Anodizing
Electro-chemical process that hardens the aluminium surface and locks in color. The reason your grinder stays black/gold/silver/rose.
Aircraft-Grade Aluminium (6061)
The alloy GMI machines from. Lighter, stronger, tighter threads than zinc. Anodizes clean, machines sharp, lasts years.
CNC Machining
Computer-controlled mills cut every part from a solid billet. No casting, no mold lines, micron-level consistency.
Digital Proof
A to-scale rendering of your artwork on the exact lid, in the chosen finish. Free, delivered in ~1 business day, before any metal is cut.
Engraving vs. Printing
Engraving removes metal; printing sits on top. Engraving is permanent. Printing fades, scratches, peels.
Kief Screen / Pollen Screen
Stainless mesh in the bottom chamber of a 4-part grinder. Catches trichomes so they don't get ground into dust.
Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)
The smallest run a supplier will start. GMI's is 1 unit — sample first, scale when you're happy.
Production Timeline
10–20 business days from proof approval to ship date. In-house production means no mystery delays.
Tiered Pricing
Per-unit cost drops at quantity breaks (1, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000+). The more you order, the less each one costs.
UV Printing
Full-color ink cured instantly with UV light. Great for photos, gradients, complex art that engraving can't do. Durable but not forever.
Zinc Alloy (Die-Cast)
Cheap grinder material. Heavy feel but soft threads, dull teeth, coatings that flake. GMI does not use it.
